Shanoule Cabin Rental

Rental Policies

Last updated June 20, 2026

These policies summarize the terms for reserving and staying at Shanoule. Guests must accept the rental agreement and house rules before payment. The signed or electronically accepted rental agreement controls if it differs from this summary.

Reservations and Payment

A minimum stay of seven nights is required. Guests may begin a stay on any available day and may reserve longer stays when the dates are available. A reservation is not confirmed until payment has been completed and confirmation has been issued.

When a reservation is made fewer than 168 hours before the 3:00 PM check-in time, the lodging portion of the price is doubled. Cleaning fees and any applicable taxes are shown separately before payment.

Cancellation and Refunds

Reservations are nonrefundable. Guests are encouraged to consider travel insurance for illness, ferry or flight disruption, severe weather, or other unexpected changes.

Occupancy

Maximum overnight occupancy is 12 registered guests. Children of all ages are welcome. Only registered guests may stay overnight, and the cabin may not be used for parties, receptions, commercial events, or other gatherings that exceed the reservation.

Arrival and Departure

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM. Check-out is by 11:00 AM. The exact address, access instructions, and arrival details are provided after payment and confirmation.

Pets, Smoking, and Conduct

Pets are not permitted. Smoking and vaping are permitted outdoors only and must be handled safely. Illegal activity, excessive noise, disruptive behavior, and damage to the property are prohibited.

Property Care

Guests must follow all posted and delivered house rules, use the private well and septic system responsibly, secure the cabin when leaving, and report damage or maintenance concerns promptly. Guests may be responsible for damage, extraordinary cleaning, missing property, or rule violations.

Island Conditions

Beaver Island is a remote location. Transportation, weather, utilities, internet service, and vendor availability may be less predictable than on the mainland. These conditions do not change the cancellation policy unless the owner agrees otherwise in writing.

Accessibility

A main-floor bedroom and full bathroom are available. Stairs are required to enter the cabin, and the property does not have dedicated accessibility features. Guests should contact Shanoule before booking with specific access questions.
